AquaBioTech Group

-The AquaBioTech Group has developed a number of highly efficient and cost effective recirculation aquaculture systems (RAS) for hatchery, broodstock, aquatic research and on-growing operations. Each system is customised according to the species and production level and are proven technologies in the field. The AquaBioTech Group also has its own RAS designs for a variety of species that cover those of major commercial importance. The company is constantly perfecting the overall performance of its designs and technology at its demonstration and R&D facility in Malta. The RAS technology has also been merged with hydroponic technology and we are now offering advanced aquaponic solutions.  The systems we offer are the result of many years of research and client feedback. Our online monitoring system allows our staff to technically support clients’ projects all over the world.

ABT Innovia is an independent aquatic, aquaculture, biotechnology research facility that also forms part of the AquaBioTech Group.  The main areas of contractual industrial research undertaken for our clients and expertise areas of the company are described as aquatic nutrition research, hatchery technology and production techniques, veterinarian research, biomedical/nutraceutical research and bioprospecting.  Our facilities are split into separate areas for maximum biosecurity.  Each of the wet rooms contains a set of holding tanks with self-contained recirculation systems providing high-level mechanical, chemical and biological filtration. All systems are stage filtered down to 1μm and have the option of continuous UV or Ozone treatment. Systems operate with fresh or seawater with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 32°C. Multiple RAS units can be operated within one facility, isolating batches of tanks.  Every room can be used for larviculture, veterinarian and pathology research, nutritional research, eco-toxicology research, ornamental, novel and carrier species.
